Bakit wala ako nabasang Urbandub?!?!?!

::::THE INFATUATION IS ALWAYS THERE::::

:::BECAUSE OF A BAND::::

Just because I like Typecast doesn’t mean I’m EMO. I have constantly been receiving so many friend requests from those people they call EMO these days. It’s OK, but I find it funny that I attract those people with that personality just because of a band. I’m like a flytrap, Typecast is the sticky gooey thing that makes the flytrap sticky, and well, those people are flies (just metaphorically of course—without any other connotation).

People get stereotyped every time. Whether by other people, or by themselves. I’ve seen so many profiles in friendster screaming that they’re “rakistas” or “punks” or in this case “emos”. I guess it’s fun for them to belong to a certain group in which other people will immediately recognize their taste and wouldn’t mistake them for another stereotype, which for some people are offensive. Like if you mistake a “rakista” for a “thug” or whatever they call someone who likes hip hop and rap very much. It’s like an insult for the “rakista” (at least from what I’ve been told).

I can’t reconcile the idea of me being called an emo. Just because of a band. It’s probably because of the connotation of the word emo that I don’t like. Like suicidal, constantly depressed without reason, non-gay boys making out with non-gay boys, being constantly rejected, wearing thick-rimmed glasses, always wearing black, and altogether cynical. Why can’t I be a cheerful emo? Just because I have a problem now doesn’t mean I’m emo all the way. I know a very cheerful childlike friend who knows all the words in almost all Typecast songs, but she’s the very opposite of emo.

Anyway, it’s just a thought. Emo. LOL. Kills me.

Typecast.
